Exciting News!
Hey everyone! Most of you know that there have been some new and exciting things in the works for MKE for quite some time now. We have been working hard over the last year to begin implementing a few things we have been talking about for quite a while. Most of you know Mia Kat Empire as a Record Label. The truth is that MKE was originally designed to be many things! We began with the Label and the Art Collective, and are now at a place to introduce a few more exciting divisions we have had up our sleeves!
There are now several programs and ways that YOU can be involved! These programs now include, “Mia Kat Handmade“, and “Please Remain Seeded.”
We have opened up a Mia Kat Handmade Etsy store, (which is more of Amanda’s ballpark than mine) in which she will be showcasing her own handmade goods for now, and will soon be putting together a Mia Kat Handmade Craft Circle! Please Remain Seeded revolves around sustainable living in an urban environment and is founded with the intent of providing education, services and resources to Southeast Texas families. We strongly advocate natural and environmentally sustainable living. Just for starters we are getting ready to launch a “SETX Green Exchange!” The mission is to build a community that enjoys not only food exchange but also working together to turn possible underutilized space into food growing opportunities. People can bring anything to the swap from their garden they may have an abundance of such as fruits, vegetables, flowers or herbs and swap with someone else. They can also feel free to bring other garden related items as well to exchange…. plants, seeds, coffee grounds for the compost pile… or some old gardening tools laying around not being used. It is swap only, no money exchanged and the items must be from the garden or home.
